Basically, this resource tracks the number of prospects entering your funnel at any point and then the number that are converted into customers. How Can You Encrypt Your Emails? Anti-Spying For Beginners

With privacy and confidential electronic information being a hot topic, we decided to post an article which will be both useful and interesting to those who have a little inclination towards data security.

Why should you encrypt emails?

Your emails contain very important records of your life and may also contain traces or indications of various events. Email is so commonly used but so commonly misunderstood as well, that we thought it necessary to focus on the security aspect of it. Even though you may have "nothing to hide", there is no reason why you should want a total stranger to have any information about you. Although you may feel that your email content is innocent or innocuous, it maybe of great value to someone wishing you ill-will or with malicious intentions. Even if you are not the target of a terrorist group, you may become easy prey for a script kiddie who just wants to be a nuisance.

Is my regular email hosting encrypted?

The short answer is No. You must remember that all email is stored in an unencrypted plain text format which can be easily read or intercepted by someone tapping the medium through which it flows. This means that when you reset a password and your password is automatically sent to you by some website, the email is received and stored in plain text. Any person with access to the hard disk where the email resides, can simply open the email file and read the contents. This is true for almost all email services online. Unless you have specifically encrypted emails using a key pair, your emails are not encrypted and can be easily tapped into.

But I'm using an https:// URL in the address bar. Doesn't that help?

Not really. The https:// URL only encrypts or obfuscates the login name and password to access your email account. It only secures the login session of your account, so that from your computer to your sending server, the connection is secure. This could be useful in preventing other people on a public Wi-Fi connection from seeing what password you used to login to your mail server.

Once your mail is sent from your machine to the mail server, unless specifically encrypted, the mail server sends the mail to the recipient server in plain text. Similarly, when the mail is passed from server to server, it is usually sent in plain text only. Any leak in the middle could lead to your data being compromised.

Encryption

To encrypt the message, the sender needs to use a Public/Private Key Pair, which will act like a lock and key. The sender must first generate this key pair, using a software like PGP or GPG. The key pairs a unique key set which allows the public key to match with only one private key. The public key can be given to any one and is like a one way key which only does the work of "locking" or encrypting the email. The private key is a secret key which should be kept confidential and can only be used one way i.e. to "unlock" or decrypt the email message.

Sending encrypted email

If you want to send someone an encrypted email, you need to have their public key. If you want someone to send you an encrypted email, you need to send them your public key. The sending of keys must also be done in a confidential or predecided manner so that you know that you are receiving the correct person's key.

Once the email is encrypted with the public key, no one can intercept it. Even if they do get a hold of your email, they will only see garbled text, since it is encrypted. To read the mail, the recipient must "unlock" or decrypt the mail using the private key corresponding to the public key that was used to lock the mail.

Most email clients provide support for encrypting email. Once you encrypt your emails from your email client, no one in between can retrieve the contents of the email, without the Private Key.

If you believe that your private key has been stolen or leaked, you can revoke your current set of keys and create a new pair, which must be shared with the sender.

As my starting point I wanted to make my Blog distinguishable from the millions of other Blogs, yes millions, on the internet.

Fiverr.com is a very reliable and inexpensive way to get a boatload of things done for $5.00. After reviewing the various designers and offers I chose a vendor to design my logo.

Using Fiverr is great when you are getting started. I have also found that in many cases, it's great a way to choose from a variety of vendors that can lead to building long-lasting business relationships. Where else can someone find service providers, review their products, hire and evaluate them all for a small $5.00 investment?

I am sure there are other competing websites offering similar services. Don't waste a lot of time evaluating and comparing other websites. Just pick one and get started.

Why? Because Action is the Answer.

One can easily get lost and overwhelmed using Fiverr if you don't focus and use the search filters available. You can search for a vendor using many different search filters alone or in combination.

The Next Step

Deciding to take the next step was easy; the problem became which step should I take?
It seems that this is the very point where everyone has a different opinion about how to start your online business. Of course, one is very different from the other. Build a website, don't build a website, create a blog, become an affiliate marketer, and the list goes on and on...

I hate being indecisive and firmly believe that a bad decision is better than no decision and no decision it still a decision to do nothing. After all, I just spent $5.00 creating a logo... didn't I???

The obvious decision for me was to start with a website.

Why?

The more I thought about it, the more I started thinking about the issues, opportunities, and needs down the road. Exactly what do I need to address my future strategy requirements?

Wait a minute, I never told you about my strategy. Sorry about that oversight.

OK, it was a flat-out mistake.

One of the many things that I have learned in life is that you can make things happen or you can let things happen. I have done both. Making things happen is a great deal more fun and rewarding.

It's like speeding down the road in your car and making great time but you don't know where you are going. Regrettably, I have done that many times in the past and don't want to do it now.

Sound familiar?

Where do I want to end my journey or better yet, what things do I want to accomplish during my journey?

After a great deal of thought I realized I didn't fully investigate why I wanted to create an Internet business.

At this point I feel like I keep moving backward to get a better understanding on how to move forward. Am I getting ahead of myself and making things overly complicated without a basic understanding of where I want and need to go?

Yes, I am.

I decided to slow down and simplify my thoughts and subsequent actions.

There are some very basic questions that need answering in order to get moving in the right direction. Here are the questions and answers I decided are necessary for me to succeed in my future Internet Business.

Question: Why do I want to create an Internet business?

Answer:

- Become financially self-sustaining with my own business and create something for my family to build upon and enjoy in the future.

- Have my children partner and with work me.

- Increase my self-confidence, pride, and personal fulfillment in a business sense.

- Enjoy life free of financial concern.

Question: What must my successful Internet business accomplish?

Answer:

It must make Business, Operational, and Financial sense. It must be automated, scalable, sustainable, and provide quality products/services. The products and services must provide profitable business and/or personal solutions to our clients. All products and service must be supported by value, integrity, and honesty.

Question: How will I create an Internet business?

Answer:

I will turn the Why's into specific objectives, followed by the required tasks, daily routines, deadlines, and measurement criteria. Most importantly and continuously, I will evaluate the progress adjusting the strategy as needed.

It doesn't look like much but I assure you it took longer to think through than it did to commit to writing. However, I now have a track to run on, follow, with an end in mind.

It's a dynamic strategy that will be adjusted and fine-tuned along the way.

The next most important thing for me is to take action. Not any action, but the right action that will accomplish my tasks and objectives by the stated deadline.

How will I decide if it is the right action to take?

I have been in sales and sales management for many years. It is easy to get sidetracked and do a bunch of unnecessary work with little to no value or beneficial results. I like simplicity. If it's simple then it is easy to understand and implement.

Thought for Today: If the step you are about to take doesn't get you closer to the sale, then don't take it!

The Journey From Failure to Success With a New Internet Marketer

I am sure you have heard it all before... homeless man makes millions over night, down on luck and broke man becomes financially successful with never known before internet marketing secret, lazy man makes money doing next to nothing... yada, yada, yada.

My story is very different, it could be titled: Sell and Die or Selling Your Way to the Cemetery, Work Yourself to Death, or How I Finally Got Smart.

Here's my story, I have been in sales and marketing my entire career and have successfully sold many products and services. It's true; I have sold vacuum cleaners, encyclopedias, pharmaceuticals, training, marketing programs, medical products, and consulting services to some of the largest companies in the world. This is in addition to many marketing, product, and sales management positions.

I worked very hard (usually over 80 hours per week) and became one of the top and in many cases the number one salesman in the country/world. My last position was Senior Vice President in charge of 2 National Sales Forces of a 12 billion dollar company with 60,000+ employees.

The End Result... I made a great deal of money, enjoyed untold benefits, travelled the world, earned the respect and support of my peers. However, I also earned 2 heart attacks, a pacemaker/defibrillator, 17 artery stents, over 50 angioplasties, and forced into retirement at age 50 with a wife and 3 kids to support.

OK, So What?

So, I want to tell you that being forced from a successful career into retirement Sucks, especially at 50 years old. I am not telling you this to feel sorry for me. Please don't! I was just chasing a dream too hard the wrong way.

Once a Busy Person... It took me about a year to regain enough of my health back to start thinking about what I was going to do next.

Why... Boredom and I was driving my wife and kids nuts, not to mention that I needed money FAST!

I researched and tried many different things until I realized that there is a tremendous opportunity to make money on the Internet. How hard can it be?

Short Answer Very Hard

Once again, without realizing my previous mistakes, I thought if I worked hard enough the money would come but it didn't.

Going it alone is a very long road. In my case, it was a very long road going nowhere.

Getting Smarter

I realized it would be better to learn from those folks who have already made their millions. I just needed to replicate their methods and succeed.

Success Creates Success or at Least I Hope it Does... and that's where we begin, at the beginning.

Well, that is not exactly the whole truth. You see, I have spend thousands and thousands of dollars buying shiny objects, training programs, miracle products, coaching programs, and I have also attended countless webinars, conference calls, seminars, etc. Anyway you get the idea. Does this sound or feel a bit familiar?

I worked my ass off and wasted 5 years making a few sales here and there. I never even came close to breaking even; much less being successful. Talk about a let down. I was always successful in my marketing and sales career but it is very different. I have failed miserably thus far.
